Primary Division

Dear Primary Division Families,

Throughout our school, scientific thinking and exploration came alive as students shared their learning in their Celebration of Learning. First graders proudly spoke about the human body systems. Second graders spoke like scientists about micro-organisms and fungi. In grade 3, our students astronomers introduced the planet they designed that could sustain life. Meanwhile in 4th grade, students led their families in practices that promote a healthy lifestyle. Finally, our Primary Division seniors in 5th grade were geologists and explained what they had learned about landforms and erosion.

The foundation of scientific thinking is making observations and asking questions. As you go about your days as a family, you can help cultivate curiosity and scientific thinking by inviting your children to share their wonderings and replying questions with more questions!

Warm Regards,

Primary Division Team

We are excited to announce that we will be holding this year’s "Adventure Awaits!" trip on December 18, where we will be heading to Luotian Forest Park. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our children to enjoy the beauty of nature and strengthen friendships and teamwork among classmates.

We look forward to sharing an unforgettable fall outing with the children!

A Friendly Reminder About Dismissal

The dismissal period is usually very busy, and ensuring students leave safely is our top priority. We kindly ask parents to follow the instructions of security personnel and pick up their children in an orderly manner. Except for students participating in Explorers programs or the StudyLab, all other students must leave the school building and public areas promptly after school. Let us work together to create a safe and organized dismissal process.

Specialist Office Hours

To enhance the connection between families and our specialists, the Primary Division will introduce office hours for specialists. You can book a 20-minute time slot within the next week to discuss your child’s growth and progress with our specialists.

Please ensure you arrive on time for your appointment to respect the schedules of the families following yours. Kindly note that specialists cannot extend ‘Office Hours’ beyond the allocated time to avoid conflicts with their teaching responsibilities. Meetings will take place at various locations, so please review your appointment details carefully to confirm the correct venue.

The form is open for sign up from 14:00, Friday to 23:59 Sunday every week.

Upcoming Events

Open.Scholar: The Mystery of Integrated Circuits

5:00-6:15 p.m., Wednesday, December 18 | A19, First Floor, MPR

What can you tell me about computer chips? With technology advancing so quickly, chips are everywhere. But what's behind how they work, how they're made, and how the industry is evolving? On December 18, Mr. Huang Mian, a parent at Avenues Shenzhen and a research associate at the Institute of Microelectronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, will take you on a deep dive into the world of chips. He'll discuss the latest in chip design, manufacturing, and applications. Mr. Huang will bring chip samples, giving attendees a chance to get hands-on and share insights.

The Speaker: Huang Mian

Mr. Huang is an Associate Researcher at the Institute of Microelectronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the founder of Shenzhen Zhongke Sihe Technology Co., Ltd. He was the first globally to propose the use of chip embedded technology for board-level fan-out integrated packaging in the power chip field and to achieve industrialization. He has built China's first board-level fan-out integrated packaging production line for power chips, overcoming key technologies such as high power, high heat dissipation, and low parasitic parameter board-level fan-out packaging. He has been granted a total of 21 invention patents (including one US patent) and has authored one professional book.
