Recent Highlights from October and November
October 19
Avenues Shenzhen proudly hosted the U19 Girls Volleyball Tournament, welcoming teams from six schools across the Greater Bay Area. The event featured thrilling matches, and Avenues' girls' volleyball team was honored with the Sportsmanship Award.
October 20
Ms. Kang, Secondary ADH, visited the Curious Elephant Public Library to deliver a lecture titled The Family Bilingual Classroom: How Parents Become Language Mentors. She shared strategies with community families on how to support their children’s language learning. In the future, Avenues teachers will continue to engage with the community to extend our resources to benefit more people.
October 24
The Avenues Parent Association held its first Parent Salon: When Menopause Meets Adolescence. The speaker, Avenues parent Ms. Lü Hui, provided valuable insights into the hormonal changes experienced by adolescents during puberty and mothers during menopause.
November 9
Avenues hosted the PRC Middle School Girls' Football Championship at the Shenzhen University Town Sports Center. Avenues is one of the six schools from the Greater Bay Area participating in this event.
November 18
Renowned parenting expert, Bingxin Children's Literature Award winner, and author of The Vision of Parenting, The Vision of Learning, and The Vision of Time, Ms. Huang Jingjie, visited Avenues Shenzhen. She shared insights with parents on how “parenting with vision” can strengthen parent-child relationships, inspire parents to be role models, and help children develop self-directed learning abilities and other key skills for the future.
November 23
We welcomed the second OPEN.Scholar public lecture. Avenues parent, Associate Professor Zhao Xinyan from the SUSTech Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, guided attendees through the essence and characteristics of light, as well as its applications in life, art, and science.
November 28
The Avenues Parent Association hosted its second Parent Salon: “Seeing is the Beginning of Building Strong Relationships”. The guest speaker, Avenues parent Ms. Lü Hui, shared how parents can truly see their children while also taking care of their own needs.
