Please remind your child to wear a white Avenues polo shirt and arrive on time to ensure a smooth photo-taking process.

If a student is unable to attend on the scheduled day due to special circumstances, they may join another class or division for a makeup session within the same week or participate in the April retake session (the date for which is to be determined). Please note that class group photos cannot be retaken.

Additionally, families have the option to schedule a family or sibling photo session on Saturday, March 22. If you are interested, please use the link below to book a time slot.

Yearbook photos are expected to be available by late April. You will be able to view, select, and purchase photos (if desired) through the Dave’s Studio mini-program. Pricing details and purchasing dates will be shared once finalized. Please stay tuned!

RUCKUS MONTH

March has started, and so has Ruckus Month! Students across divisions are diving deep into a variety of learning opportunities to further explore technology, innovation, digital well-being, AI, and programming - through special lessons, events and visits.

Based on the registration data collected earlier, we have finalized the Ruckus series of events that will take place throughout the entire month of March, with no activities scheduled on weekends. We appreciate the engagement of our parent community and are excited to welcome some families this month who have been eager to collaborate and will interact with our students by sharing tech-related findings, products and services. This will broaden our students’ horizons and help them understand the impact that tech has had and will continue to have in shaping the world around us! And this is just the beginning!

ACC Recap

This week, we invited Ms. Yuan Wang, the founder of Huiguang Education Consulting, to give a lecture to Secondary Division parents on adolescent sex education. During the session, Ms. Wang emphasized that parents should not wait until issues arise to discuss sex as a way to "solve problems." Instead, they should be proactive and use these conversations as a bridge to strengthen parent-child connections.

The lecture covered the following key topics:

  1. Understanding the developmental tasks of adolescence
  2. Practical tips for parents on discussing sex education
  3. A systemic and collaborative approach to sex education

If you would like to learn more about the lecture, please refer to this document.

Avenues Students Participate in the International High School Team Math Competition in Suzhou

From March 7 to March 8, four Avenues Shenzhen students Alfred and Josie (Grade 10), along with Reed and Madeline (Grade 12), traveled to Suzhou to compete in the 2025 International High School Team Math Competition.

This competition, which was open to high school teams from across Asia with students aged 15 to 18, consisted of six rounds and attracted 30 participating teams. Conducted entirely in English, the event tested teamwork, problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and mathematical knowledge.

For Avenues students, this was more than just a math challenge—it was a valuable opportunity to further build resilience under pressure, broaden their horizons, recognize their strengths, and develop a competitive edge.

Avenues faculty members Catherine and Luke, who accompanied the team, were deeply impressed by the students’ unwavering collaboration and support for one another. Despite the difficulties they faced, they remained determined, encouraged each other, and tackled challenges together, fully embodying the resilience and perseverance of Avenues students.
