Primary Division Updates
Dear Primary Division Families,
Next week is our long awaited Arts Showcase! This special event is a highlight of our school year—a time when our students can shine and share their creative talents with our whole community.
At Avenues, we believe the arts are essential in every child’s education. As the artist Pablo Picasso once said, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” Through music, dance, drama, and visual arts, our students learn to express themselves, discover their passions, and build confidence and empathy that extend far beyond the classroom.
Next week, students will participate in several rehearsals as they prepare for the showcase. Our teachers are committed to minimizing the impact on academic learning, and we are working together to ensure students stay on track with their studies while enjoying this unique opportunity.
Performing and sharing one’s talents takes real courage. We are so proud of every student who steps onto the stage, and we know that your encouragement means the world to them.
We look forward to celebrating the creativity and dedication of our students with you. Thank you for supporting the arts and helping us foster a warm, inspiring community where every child’s unique gifts can flourish.
See you at the showcase!
Warmly,
Primary Division Leadership Team
Admissions for Siblings | Early Learning Center
The continued enrollment process for the 2025–26 school year is expected to be completed this week. If your family is considering enrolling another child between the ages of 1.5 and 6 for entry this fall, we warmly invite you to scan the QR code below and connect with our admissions team for more information.
As a special support for currently enrolled families, Avenues offers a priority admissions pathway for siblings. If you submit an Early Learning Center application for another child by May 14, 2025, the tuition for the 2025–26 school year will remain at the current rate of RMB 288,000 per year.
For new families and applications submitted after May 14, there may be adjustments to comprehensive fee rate due to rising educational costs. The finalized fee structure will be shared with new families in June.
Vote for your favorite snacks !
Avenues deeply value the health and well-being of our students, and we strive to ensure they have wonderful experiences in all aspects of school life. The daily snacks are carefully prepared by our catering team, and we hope they bring a little sweetness and joy to your children's day.
To better understand our students' preferences, our catering team tracks the amount of leftover snacks each day, and we've noticed some fascinating differences in tastes among different classes. To gain a clearer picture of what our students truly enjoy, we're excited to announce a snack voting activity, giving them the opportunity to choose their favorite treats!
Attached is a list of snacks that have been offered or are currently being offered in primary division. We encourage you to discuss and explore the list with your children over the weekend, discovering which snacks they love the most. Next week, we will post posters around the school, inviting students to vote for their favorite snacks. We will carefully consider the voting results and adjust our snack offerings accordingly, aiming to provide even more delicious and popular options for our students.
If you have any suggestions, please feel free to contact Ms. Shirley (shirley.kan@avenueschina.cn) . Let's work together to add even more delightful flavors to our children's school experience!
Severe Weather Response Guide
With the arrival of summer, the frequency of extreme weather increases. According to the government guidance documents, all schools in the city, regardless of region, will cancel school in the event that the municipal meteorological observatory in any area of the city issues the following meteorological disaster warning signals:
If the above warning is issued before students have arrived at school, students should not come to school and should stay in a safe place. If the warning is issued during the school day, we will ensure all students are safe (including students on the school bus) until the warning signal is lifted.
Please click on the link below to get familiar with the severe weather response guide.

Campus Update
Welcome Dr. Li Zheng to the Avenues Mastery Research Hub
As we prepare for the new academic year, we are delighted to announce that Dr. Li Zheng will join the Secondary Division as our Scientist in Residence and a member of the Avenues Mastery Research Hub.
Dr. Li Zheng is the founder of Vector Lab and currently serves as a Senior Curriculum Advisor and the Head of the Zero-One Class at Shenzhen X-Institute. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Fudan University and a Ph.D. from Tsinghua University, bringing a wealth of academic expertise and research experience.
Dr. Li has made notable contributions to experimental physics, including his involvement in the national research project, “Development of the In-Situ Experimental Platform for Low-Dimensional Quantum Matter in Non-Equilibrium States.” He has extensive experience using precision ultra-high vacuum thin-film epitaxy and ultra-low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy, as well as repairing and improving precision equipment. Additionally, Dr. Li taught himself parallel computing, first-principles calculations, and artificial intelligence technologies, which led to the creation of a new research platform for calculating the thermal conductivity of materials.
Previously, Dr. Li served as the laboratory director at an internationalized school in Shenzhen, where he built a cutting-edge academic research laboratory aimed at cultivating middle school students’ scientific skills. This lab covered a wide range of subjects, including physics, computer science, chemistry, biology, engineering, earth science, economics, and interdisciplinary topics. His expertise and experience will provide our students with the most advanced scientific knowledge and research practices, sparking their innovative thinking and encouraging a spirit of exploration.
We eagerly anticipate the new energy that Dr. Li will bring to the academic environment at Avenues Shenzhen, and the exciting courses and research projects he will lead in the upcoming academic year. We are confident that Dr. Li’s contributions will inspire our students to take bold steps in their scientific journeys!
