The 2024-25 School Calendar Updates
Following the national holiday changes for Labor Day, May 2 is an additional day off, and the Labor Day break is from May 1 to May 2. Students will return to school on May 5.
Primary Division Updates
Dear Primary Division Families,
We are so excited for our upcoming conferences. For grades 1-3, the Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC) offer a valuable opportunity to discuss your child's progress and development with their teacher. For grades 4-5, the Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences (SPTC) include your child in the conversation, allowing them to share their achievements and areas they aim to improve. These events foster collaboration and support your child’s educational journey.
Second semester conferences are particularly significant as they build on the foundation laid in the first semester. While the initial conferences focused on setting goals and identifying areas for growth, these meetings allow us to assess progress, celebrate achievements, and adjust strategies as needed to ensure continued success. Your involvement is crucial in this phase, as it reinforces the importance of education and helps create a supportive environment for your child.
To prepare, we suggest discussing with your child their thoughts on their progress and any challenges they might be facing. Bringing any questions or topics you wish to discuss will help us make the most of our time together. Your participation is key to building a strong educational foundation for your child.

April 23-24 PTC/SPTC
This semester's one-on-one Parent-Teacher Conferences(PTC) will be held from April 23 to 24. Each family will have 40 minutes for one-on-one communication with the class teacher.
Meeting times for each family will be announced via the WeChat class group chat next Monday – please keep an eye out for them.
Specialist Office Hours
To enhance the connection between families and our specialists, the Primary Division will introduce office hours for specialists. You can book a 20-minute time slot within the next week to discuss your child’s growth and progress with our specialists.
Please ensure you arrive on time for your appointment to respect the schedules of the families following yours. Kindly note that specialists cannot extend ‘Office Hours’ beyond the allocated time to avoid conflicts with their teaching responsibilities. Meetings will take place at various locations, so please review your appointment details carefully to confirm the correct venue.
Please note that due to the high volume of parent meetings Ms. Xiao is conducting during the parent-teacher conference period, her meeting slots will be suspended for two weeks starting next week.
The form is open for sign up from 14:00 Friday to 23:59 Sunday every week for the reservations.

Avenues at the Moment
Summer@Avenues Registration Now Open!
As the greenery deepens and warmth fills the air, another vibrant summer is upon us—Summer@Avenues, our beloved summer program, is back! This year, we continue to offer a diverse array of programs for students from our Small World learners up to rising 10th graders.
Building on last year’s language program, this summer’s Primary Division curriculum will follow a dual-track model that includes:
- Half-day "Deep Reading + Creative Writing", and
- Half-day "Multimedia Production + Real World Exploration"
Under the guidance of Avenues’ experienced faculty and expert foreign teachers, students will become storytellers of the world, not just passive receivers of knowledge.
They will also step into the roles of actors, directors, editors, and music producers—writing scripts, performing on stage, and even taking charge of filming and production. They’ll use multimedia tools such as AI, iMovie, GarageBand, and more to express their thoughts in diverse and creative ways. Let English be more than just a tool for communication—let it be the key to exploring the world.

ACC Summary: Cultivating Students' Emotional Intelligence
In this week’s ACC session, we have introduced some tools to parents to nurture students’ emotional well-being, fostering resilience, empathy, and stronger interpersonal skills through interactive discussions and practical strategies.
Here are some of the strategies that our teachers shared:
- Modeling Behavior: Demonstrate healthy emotional expression.
- Encouraging Articulation: Teach children to identify, unpack, and express their feelings.
- Active Listening: Show how to listen effectively to children’s emotions and concerns.
- Conflict Resolution: Provide techniques for resolving conflicts more effectively.
