The 2024-25 School Calendar Updates
Following the national holiday changes for Labor Day, May 2 is an additional day off, and the Labor Day break is from May 1 to May 2. Students will return to school on May 5.
Kindergarten Updates
Dear ELC families，
Welcome Back! We were so excited to welcome our ELC students back to school this week after a joyful and restful Spring Break! Their energy and curiosity have brought the classrooms to life once again.
We are now entering the final two months of the academic year, a period that highlights the most rapid progress our students have made. As we journey forward together, we are committed to maintaining open dialogues, close collaboration, and unwavering support for your child's development. Currently, the ELC team is preparing for upcoming parent-teacher meetings. We sincerely invite all parents to join us in celebrating the children's learning achievements and discussing ways to further support their development. We look forward to sharing stories and observations of the children's growth with parents during the upcoming meetings, providing a comprehensive understanding of their school experiences. Your valuable input will enable us to better understand your child's unique strengths, interests, and developmental areas. Through genuine communication and teamwork, we can collectively shape a holistic learning experience for your child.
We are looking forward to meeting with you at the one-on-one parent-teacher meetings, as we continue our collaborative efforts to foster the growth and development of our students.

Avenues at the Moment
Summer@Avenues Registration Now Open!
As the greenery deepens and warmth fills the air, another vibrant summer is upon us—Summer@Avenues, our beloved summer program, is back! This year, we continue to offer a diverse array of programs for students from our Small World learners up to rising 10th graders.
Continuing with the beloved theme of “Clothing, Food, Housing, and Transportation,” the Kindergarten program will once again immerse children in rich, real-world experiences. Under the guidance of Avenues’ excellent teaching team and external experts, children will:
- Step into traditional Cantonese tea houses and urban villages to experience the warmth and vibrancy of everyday life;
- Visit food education and textile innovation bases to explore creativity and science in action;
- Tour the cruise homeport and real estate showrooms to witness bustling modern scenes.
Through these unique Shenzhen experiences, children will uncover traces of culture and gain a deeper sense of history.
For Primary and Secondary students, this year’s programs focus on language enrichment, with themes such as filmmaking, public speaking, debate, and stand-up comedy. Our goal is to let education grow naturally from life and to nurture each student’s personal development with joy and purpose.

ACC Summary: Cultivating Students' Emotional Intelligence
In this week’s ACC session, we have introduced some tools to parents to nurture students’ emotional well-being, fostering resilience, empathy, and stronger interpersonal skills through interactive discussions and practical strategies.
Here are some of the strategies that our teachers shared:
- Modeling Behavior: Demonstrate healthy emotional expression.
- Encouraging Articulation: Teach children to identify, unpack, and express their feelings.
- Active Listening: Show how to listen effectively to children’s emotions and concerns.
- Conflict Resolution: Provide techniques for resolving conflicts more effectively.
