Kindergarten Updates

Dear ELC Families,

It’s wonderful to see the second week of school activities wrap up successfully! We also have some exciting news to share—this week, 11 new ELC students and their families joined our Avenues community. Let’s give a warm welcome to our new friends!

The new PK and K students have quickly settled into their classrooms since the first day, eagerly participating in activities and exploring the world around them through play and interaction with their teachers and classmates. The younger children in Small World and Nursery are gradually building a sense of security with the support of their teachers and peers. Many are already beginning to follow their teachers’ lead and take part in group activities. As expected, younger children need more time to adjust to school life, and the Phase-in provides strong support to help them adapt smoothly. Our teachers are also incorporating engaging games and visual schedules to help our little ones move seamlessly between two language environments.

Thank you for your trust and support as your children navigate their journey toward independence. Let’s continue working together to support them every step of the way!

Coming Up Next Week!

Next Wednesday, February 26, we’re excited to host our first school-wide event of the semester—the 2025 Avenues WAM SLAM! Students from all three divisions will come together to take on fun and exciting sports challenges. Be sure to check out the event details below—we can’t wait to celebrate the joy of movement with you and cheer on our students as they showcase their energy and enthusiasm!

Warmly,
ELC Leadership Team

Course Overview:

Avenues Beginning Program helps parents better understand their child's developmental needs while fostering early learning through play. With engaging activities, we explore the key stages and milestones of early childhood development, empowering parents to make informed choices. Our curriculum emphasizes the role of play in supporting cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Sensory play experiences, fine and gross motor skill development, and language growth are all integral parts of the program. Through strengthening the parent-child relationship and creating a supportive environment, we aim to provide a joyful learning experience that nurtures growth and cultivates a lifelong love of learning.

Bring your school badge for pickup
To ensure students' safety, parents and guardians must wear their badges when picking up students. If you have not yet received it, please go to A12 to collect it as soon as possible. If the pickup person does not present the badge, they will have to wait until the staff contacts the parents to confirm the pickup authorization before they can pick up the child.

If you need to add an authorized pickup person, you can open WeChat "School Notifications," click on the bottom on menu "School Applications," fill out the "Family Contacts" form, and submit. After one working day after submission, you can collect your badge at A12.
