Dear Avenues Families,

At Avenues, learning goes beyond the classroom. Boarding life helps students grow together, building empathy, responsibility, and independence. Our program is more than a residence—it is a “home away from home” where wellbeing, growth, and belonging flourish each day.

Nurturing Independence through Daily Life

Daily boarding balances structure and freedom. From morning routines to evening reflections, students manage their time, take responsibility, and build healthy habits. Consistent practices help them become disciplined, accountable, and ready for the independence of university life.

A Culture of Connection and Care

Our boarding mentors cultivate a supportive environment grounded in respect and open communication. Through weekly mentor sessions, daily check-ins, and community activities, we ensure every boarder feels seen, heard, and cared for. In these moments—of shared laughter, late-night talks, and teamwork—students discover their second family.

Learning and Growing through Community Life

Boarding education is an essential part of holistic learning. Through boarding life, students learn collaboration, understanding, and empathy. Whether planning dorm activities, celebrating birthdays, or sharing meals, they practice community building in everyday interactions and shape their own character along the way.

Looking Ahead

Thank you for your trust and partnership. We will continue to evolve and refine our boarding program. It is through our collective effort that our students are able to grow here—not only as stronger learners, but as balanced, compassionate, and confident global citizens. To close this week’s family bulletin, I would like to share a line that captures the heart of our work:

“Education is not only about academic excellence but about helping students find their own direction through trust and understanding.”

Let us be inspired by these words as we continue to walk this journey together.

With gratitude,

Robert Bu

To provide children with more nutritious and delicious meals, the school will regularly hold Parent Tasting Events. During these events, we will introduce the Avenues FOOD Program. You will be able to try new dishes that are about to be launched and share your feedback with the kitchen team for improvements.

At last year’s tasting events, we received many constructive comments from parents, which laid a solid foundation for adjusting and improving our dining program. We sincerely thank the APA Dining Committee and all participating parents for their valuable opinions and feedback.

Based on the feedback from last semester, we had successfully organized the Early Learning Center and the Primary and Secondary Divisions food tastes.

Third Food Tasting Event is for the whole campus:

Community Resources

Share Your Story|How a Moment Shaped Your Path

Dear Avenues Community Members,

Our Grade 11 students are embarking on a fascinating interdisciplinary unit, "Where Molecules Meet Memories." In this unit, they are learning to see the world through a dual lens: exploring how the microscopic world shape the macroscopic world and tell stories about our lives, heritage, and environment, and how single objective scientific reality generate infinite subjective human experiences.

To help them see the human connection, we would love your help!

We are inviting adults in our community to share a brief story about a personal experience that sparked your current career, profession, or passion.

Did a specific moment, a conversation, or a seemingly small event in your life set you on the path you're on today? By sharing your story, you will:

  • Provide a real-life example of how our subjective, personal experiences can shape our objective future.
  • Inspire our young minds by letting them learn from your journey and experiences.
  • Strengthen our community bonds and support our students' career education.

How you can contribute:

  • Record a 1-minute video: Briefly share your name, what you do, and the story of the moment that influenced your path.
  • Write a short letter: A paragraph or two is perfect! You can email it to us.

Please submit your video or letter to Ms. Emma via email at emma.ge@avenueschina.cn by November 21.

Your story, no matter how simple it seems, has the power to illuminate the connection between life's moments and life's work. Thank you for considering supporting our next generation.

Warmly,

Ms.Emma
