Avenues at the Moment
J-Term of School Year 2024–25
As we prepare for this year’s exciting J-Term program, we are pleased to share that the Primary Division and Secondary Division will soon be announcing their plans. For ELC students, we are taking additional time to thoughtfully finalize options that will deliver a comprehensive and extraordinary experience tailored to their unique needs.
We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to design a program that reflects the highest standards of creativity, engagement, and developmental alignment. Our goal is to ensure that every experience supports your child’s growth, curiosity, and joy for learning.
We look forward to sharing more details about the ELC J-Term program in January, and we are confident that it will be worth the wait. In the meantime, should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our J-Term lead, Ms Faye, faye.yu@avenueschina.cn.
Kindergarten Updates
Dear ELC Families,
This week, we had the pleasure of hosting our semester one Celebration of Learning (COL). The school was buzzing with excitement and energy. Children’s pride in their work was truly palpable. It was wonderful to welcome families into the school to see firsthand the growth and learning that have taken place this semester.
During one of the ELC COL presentations, a teacher shared a picture of a project that didn’t go as planned. The teacher took a moment to highlight the importance of sharing not only our successes but also our failed attempts. This candid reflection on the learning process reinforced a powerful lesson: growth often comes from what doesn’t go as expected, and these moments of challenge are just as important as those of achievement.
Our biannual COLs are also a time for us as educators and parents to reflect on the core values that drew us to Avenues in the first place. They serve as a reminder of why we continue to innovate and evolve in how we educate our children, preparing them for the future with a mindset that embraces both success and failure as integral parts of the learning journey.
Thank you for being a part of this important moment in our school year. We look forward to continuing this collaborative journey with you as we support the growth and development of your children.
Warmly,
The ELC Leadership Team
