Dear Avenues Families,
The new school year is officially underway, and we are thrilled to welcome all of our new families to the Avenues community—we’re so glad you’re here! It was also a joy to see so many familiar faces at today’s Community Fair as our returning students and families came back home to Avenues.
Though school have only been in session for two days, the energy on campus is already electric. Our faculty and I are filled with excitement and anticipation as we embark on this 2025–2026 journey with you and your children—a year that promises growth, discovery, and countless moments of inspiration！
This year, we’re launching an update to enhance your communication experience: consolidating the three divisional newsletters into a single, unified K–12 Avenues weekly family bulletin. This change aims to achieve three main goals:
- Provide a more comprehensive view of our school community, emphasizing the strengths and continuity of our K–12 program.
- Simplify communications for families by removing redundant information and reducing overload.
- Use appropriate platforms to deliver information more clearly and accessibly.
Going forward, our communication will be organized into three main channels for easy access:
- Weekly Family Bulletin & Monthly HOS Letter: Sharing key updates, highlights, and strategic directions across the school.
- Class WeChat Groups: Focused on grade-level and classroom-specific announcements and activities.
- Personalized Student Updates: Individual feedback about your child’s progress, shared via phone calls, emails, in-person meetings, or Seesaw (ELC only).
In the updated weekly newsletter, you'll find highlights on academic excellence, student experience, and faculty development—curated by leaders from across the school. We’ve also gathered this week’s community moments and upcoming events you won’t want to miss. We hope this refreshed format makes it easier than ever to stay connected with everything happening in our Avenues community.
We believe that clear, intentional communication strengthens our partnership—and together, we can offer the consistent support your children need. Thank you, as always, for your trust and collaboration. Here’s to a fresh start and a year full of endless possibilities for our students!

Important Reminders
Health Reminder｜Chikungunya Prevention
Recently, Guangdong Province is in a high-incidence period of Chikungunya. To prevent the outbreak and spread of the disease on campus, the school has implemented the following measures:
- Every Saturday, a pest control company will disinfect the teaching buildings and surrounding areas, and on Sunday the cleaning team will conduct inspections and cleaning.
- Some plants around the campus have been replaced with mosquito-repelling plants.
- Mosquito repellent is available in the school clinic and at the school entrances for students and waiting parents.
Chikungunya is mainly transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. All students and parents are advised to take preventive measures. If a student or a family member living in the same household develops suspected Chikungunya symptoms such as fever, rash, or joint pain, please seek medical attention immediately at a licensed medical institution. If confirmed, cooperate with treatment and the epidemiological investigation by the CDC, and report the case truthfully to the school health office as soon as possible. The school nurse will contact you and provide guidance related to disease control and returning to school.
Timely and accurate information is the basis for the school to implement effective preventive measures and protect the health of all students and staff. We hope everyone will raise awareness and actively participate in disease prevention efforts.
