ELC Updates
Dear ELC Families,
As we welcome the energy of summer, our community comes together in deliberate reflection. Our teachers have completed thoughtful reflections on their instructional practice and begun to craft detailed narratives of your children’s learning journeys. We now invite you to carry this habit of reflection into your home, supporting our shared commitment to growth and learning.
With younger toddlers, you might ask questions like, “What kind thing happened for you today?” or “How did you help someone at school?” You could also ask, “What new word, sound, or movement did you try today?” These simple prompts help little ones recognize their own thoughts, actions, and the kindness around them.
For our older children, consider asking, “What can you do now that you couldn’t do last year?” or “How did you solve a problem today, and what did you learn from it?” You might also ask, “When did you feel most curious or excited today?” Framing these questions around recent events, like finishing a puzzle, figuring out a game rule, or discovering a new story, encourages deeper self-awareness and growth.
By making reflection part of your daily routine and annual rhythm, you reinforce the connection between school and family and help children learn to think about their thinking. Thank you for partnering with us in this important work. Together, we build a community of thoughtful, curious learners.
Warmly,
The ELC Leadership Team

If the above warning is issued before students have arrived at school, students should not come to school and should stay in a safe place. If the warning is issued during the school day, we will ensure all students are safe (including students on the school bus) until the warning signal is lifted.
