Primary Division Updates

Dear Primary Division Parents,

During this upcoming week, our 5th graders will embark on their much-anticipated graduation overnight field trip! This special journey marks a celebration of their trajectory from early childhood, where they learned to read, to their readiness now to move on as teenagers into the secondary division. It is a testament to their growth and achievements throughout their primary years.

This overnight trip is just the beginning of our closing rituals and traditions for the year, which will be followed by kindergarten, 9th-grade and 5th grade Stepping Up ceremonies, as well as, the 12th-grade graduation. Each of these milestones is an opportunity to honor and celebrate the hard work, growth, and achievements of our students.

We also want to highlight the success of our "What to Expect" parent sessions. These sessions have been instrumental in helping parents become better prepared for the next school year and in understanding what is next in their child's educational journey.

We look forward to celebrating these important milestones with you and your children and to continuing to support you through these transitions.

Best regards,
The Primary Division Leadership Team

Health Office Friendly Reminder
Recently, there has been a resurgence of COVID-19 cases in the wider community. To strengthen the health defenses of our campus, the Health Office kindly reminds you and your child to stay mindful of your health.

Daily Protection Measures:

  • Wear masks properly in crowded places, wash hands frequently, ventilate rooms regularly, and avoid gatherings.
  • Monitor your child’s temperature and overall health. If symptoms such as sore throat, fatigue, or fever appear, please keep your child at home for observation and test promptly (antigen/PCR), and delay their return to school.

If your child is diagnosed with COVID-19, please ensure they rest and recover at home and inform the Health Office. To prevent cross-infection, students may only return to school after at least 3 days of illness with a negative nucleic acid or antigen test, or 7 days after onset of symptoms.

Promote Health Awareness
Encourage a balanced diet, regular sleep routines, and appropriate physical activity for your child. Avoid excessive fatigue.

Support Campus Prevention Measures
If your child is diagnosed, is a close contact, or lives with someone who has tested positive, please contact the Health Office immediately.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us.

Severe Weather Response Guide
With the arrival of summer, the frequency of extreme weather increases. According to the government guidance documents, all schools in the city, regardless of region, will cancel school in the event that the municipal meteorological observatory in any area of the city issues the following meteorological disaster warning signals:

  • Yellow Warning Signal of Typhoon
  • Orange Warning Signal of Typhoon
  • Red Warning Signal of Typhoon
  • Red Warning Signal of Rainstorm
  • Red Warning Signal of Gale

If the above warning is issued before students have arrived at school, students should not come to school and should stay in a safe place. If the warning is issued during the school day, we will ensure all students are safe (including students on the school bus) until the warning signal is lifted.

Please click on the link below to get familiar with the severe weather response guide.
