Kindergarten Updates
Dear parents,
As we prepare to welcome the Year of the Snake, we are reminded of the qualities the symbol embodies: intuition, growth, and transformation. Much like a snake shedding its skin to grow, our youngest learners are constantly evolving, discovering new aspects of themselves and the world around them.
In our ELC, cultural celebrations like Chinese New Year are more than just joyful events; they are powerful opportunities to foster a sense of community and nurture identity in early childhood. Engaging with cultural traditions helps children develop an appreciation for diversity while also encouraging them to explore their own unique identities and connections to the world.
This coming week, we will immerse ourselves in the rich traditions of Chinese New Year with activities designed to inspire curiosity and connection. The children will enjoy a traditional puppet show, bringing stories to life and offering a window into the holiday's folklore and values. They will also have the opportunity to cook and taste traditional foods in our kitchen, creating a tangible connection to the flavors and shared joy of celebrating together. Through handcrafts and games, they will engage in creative and playful experiences that deepen their understanding of the holiday and foster collaboration with peers across the ELC.
We look forward to the festive week ahead!
Warm regards,
Kindergarten Leadership Team
As the Lunar New Year approaches, we have designed a series of fun activities for the children to immerse themselves in the festive spirit. Through hands-on crafts, interactive games, and learning about traditional culture, the children will enjoy the holiday atmosphere and cultivate an appreciation for cultural traditions.

Join Us at the A12 Explorers Exhibition!
In this semester's after-school courses, Kindergarten and Primary students have demonstrated remarkable achievements in art, design thinking, and maker projects. To celebrate their growth and creativity, we invite you to the "To the Future" Explorers Exhibition at the A12 Welcome Center, featuring a diverse array of works by Avenues students.
Time: January 9–21, 2025
Location: A12 Welcome Center
In the Xiaoyan Art course, students used brushes and various materials to create imaginative artworks, including animals navigating three-dimensional tunnels, vibrant dolphins in the deep sea, and houses filled with hidden mysteries. The exhibition also features a self-service charity sale booth, where you can purchase student-designed art merchandise such as canvas bags, coffee cups, and keychains. All proceeds will be donated to charitable organizations, spreading warmth to those in need.
The D-STEAM course guided students in exploring topics such as space exploration, human engineering, and social humanities. From constructing Earth-Moon system simulators to designing Mars bases and studying ancient civilizations through oracle bone carvings, each project reflects the students' unique insights into science and history.
In the MG Maker course, students delved into the theme of future cities through creative projects. From researching smart city concepts and green energy to building city models with eco-friendly materials, they brought their creations to life by illuminating LED strips and powering motors, envisioning cities of limitless possibilities.
This exhibition not only showcases the students' intelligence and creativity but also serves as a bridge connecting them with art, technology, and society. We warmly invite you and your children to join us in celebrating their growth and the realization of their dreams!
Parenting Workshop Series from a Family Life Cycle Perspective
What is the Family Life Cycle, and how can it help my child?
Family Life Cycle Theory helps parents understand the challenges children face at different stages of development, as well as how the family must adapt to these changes. As children grow, parents not only support them in their developmental tasks but also work together as a family to navigate the challenges these transitions may bring. Successfully managing these challenges can help children grow healthily and promote family harmony and stability.
What will I gain from this workshop series?
By attending this workshop series, you will learn how to understand your family's current life cycle stage and how to manage potential parent-child relationship challenges during these phases. You will gain:
These skills will help you provide a stable, positive support system for your child, aiding their development and reducing the risk of behavioral problems while strengthening trust within the family.
